Before I became a therapist, I was working in “person2person” sales, advising on health and funeral plans. A role that not only required me to communicate clearly with my clients, but also meant I got to travel the country, meeting different people, and exploring different cultures. It was a very intense role, but the people I met along the way made it more than worthwhile.
One thing I found when speaking to clients was that they would really open up to me. Often sharing very personal experiences regarding themselves and their lost loved ones. Sharing these moments really touched me. Leading me to reflect on why, within minutes of meeting, people would want to share their most intimate and precious memories. It was then I had a light bulb moment.
Although I enjoyed my work, I would often walk away feeling unfulfilled. My clients had really opened up to me, exposing their vulnerability, and although listening helped, I knew I wanted to do more. I made the decision to walk away from all that I knew, a successful well-paid career in sales. I enrolled in adult education, and qualified as a therapist. I won’t lie and say I didn’t feel like a fish out of water along the way, but it was the best thing I ever did. I continue to study and learn as much as I can through seminars and courses throughout the year, to keep my knowledge fresh and up to date.
Witnessing a client grow in strength, courage and trust, and begin to believe in themselves, is so rewarding. I’m grateful to each and every one of my clients for sharing my journey, and allowing me the opportunity to share in yours.

To begin I’d like to acknowledge how difficult it can be taking that first step in recognising you may need some support and a helping hand. It can take great courage to admit it to yourself. However, it’s really ok if you need someone to help you bear the heavy weight you may be carrying. I believe many of us need this from time to time in our lives.
Sometimes it’s hard to turn to those closest to us; fearing we may be judged and not truly listened to. I can offer you a safe confidential space where you will be heard and able to explore the issues that may be troubling you. I will do this in a non-judgemental way, where you can lead your therapy at your own pace. I believe it is only you who knows how your pain, anxiety, loss or depression truly feels.
